BMAT 2013 Section 2 Question 21

Which of the following could be found in an adult liver cell?

  1. gene for amylase
  2. sex chromosomes
  3. starch

Answer:

The complete set of genes of an organism is found in a cell meaning the liver cell would have the gene for amylase as well as sex chromosomes.

However, starch is broken down before it reaches the liver. Hence starch is not found in the liver cell.

1 and 2 are found in an adult liver cell. So, E is the answer.
