BMAT 2015 Section 2 Question 13

A human consumes the same amount and type of food and drink on two consecutive days. He also does the same activities on both days. However, one of the days is hot and the other is cold. Which row in the table correctly shows the mass of two substances found in the urine of this human on the hot day compared with the cold day?

Answer:

On a hot day, more sweating occurs, which results in a decline in water level in the body. So compared to a cold day, the water level in the body on a hot day would be less.

Temperature does not affect the mass of urea produced in a day. So the mass of ureas would remain the same. Hence the answer is B.
