Which one of the following is equivalent to (√5 – 2)²?

Answer:

(√5 – 2)²
Using the (a – b)² = (a² + b² – 2ab) rule,

(√5)² + (2)² – (2 x √5 x 2)

5 + 4 – 4√5 = 9 – 4√5
